Amanda Peet has landed the lead female role in Roland Emmerich's 2012. The Hollywood Reporter say she will play John Cusack's ex wife in the apocolyptic disaster film. Cusack will be a limo driver struggling to become a writer and Peet will play his recently married ex. Already headed for disaster are Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt.

Christopher Eccleston will play Ameila Earheart's navigator in the bio-pic Amelia. Eccleston will play Fred Noonan opposite Hilary Swank's Amelia. It's a fairly impressive cast with Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor already involved. The news comes from Variety.
