Stalked: Jack Black, Robert Rodriguez
Jack Black has been speaking about those Hobbit casting rumours.
Robert Rodriguez is going back to children's films.
Despite Peter Jackson and Guillermo Del Toro saying that no official casting would be announced on The Hobbit for a year, rumours have already started. We already told you of a supposed shortlist involving Jack Black, Daniel Radcliffe and the favourite James McAvoy. Now Black has been talking about the rumours on MTV Movie Blog, and saying they are just that:
No, no. There’s no talk of it, so I’m not gonna talk about it.”
Unsurprisingly, he hinted that if he were approached he'd be open to the idea. Guess we'll need to wait and see. My favourite would be McAvoy for Bilbo Baggins.
Robert Rodriguez is going back to familiar ground with a kids film. Having made three Spy Kids films in the past his next one will be called, Shorts. Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann and James Spader all star in Shorts. Jimmy Bennett, Kat Dennings, Trevor Gagnon, Leo Howard, Devon Gearhart, Rebel Rodriguez, Jake Short and Jolie Vanier are all in the film. According to FirstShowing.net, the films is about:
..a suburb where all the houses look the same and everyone works for Black Box, manufacturer of the ultimate communication and do-it-all gadget. Chaos follows when an 11-year-old boy is hit in the head with a rainbow-colored rock that grants wishes to anyone who holds it.
Rodriguez will be writing and directing this one, as well as editor and visual effects supervisor. Maybe after this one, Sin City 2 will be ready to move forward.
