Fergie joins Nine?

Fergie.jpgRob Marshall's musical Nine has an inpressive cast already, including Oscar winners Daniel Day Lewis and Dame Judi Dench. Which makes the latest addition to the cast even more strange.

Due to star opposite Daniel Day Lewis is none other than Black Eyed Peas front lady Fergie. Oh lord, this could turn into car crash TV.

Rob Marshall's Nine is based on Federico Fellini's film 81/2. It tells the story of film director Guido Contini played by Daniel Day Lewis, he struggles to balance his professional and private life while maintaing relationships with his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother. Feeling like he is losing his touch, he retreats into his memories and fantasies.

Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson, Sophia Loren and Dame Judi Dench are already in the cast. But the addition of Fergie is a strange one, she'll be playing Saraghina in the film, a woman "who introduces Guido (Daniel Day-Lewis) to the world of sexuality". The news comes from Playbill through MTV Movies Blog.

I'm a bit partial to some Black Eyed Peas every now and then, but Fergie acting opposite Daniel Day Lewis? Should be interesting to see her acting opposite some one of his calibre. Will she be able to hold her own?
