Jolie to play Catwoman?
With The Dark Knight (Filmstalker review) in cinemas, a rumour has appeared that Angelina Jolie has enquired about playing Catwoman in the future. Julie Newmar, who has already played the role, says that Jolie wants to have a go in an upcoming sequel.
She certainly has the look, but will they bring back Catwoman? Would you want them to?
Julie Newmar played Catwoman in the 1960's, and she told the New York Post through comic book movie that Angelina Jolie wants to be the next in line.
Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me (she) has made inquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman's one true love. She's tremendously popular with women because she's both a heroine and a villainess.
Who knows who the next villain will be, but the writers have said that a return for Catwoman is unlikely. Maybe they'd change their mind if they could get Jolie in the role. I can see her doing a great job. What about you, should Catwoman make a reappearance? And would you want Angelina Jolie in the role?
