Ninja Assassin Behind the Scenes online

NinjaAssassin.jpgThere's an interesting Behind the Scenes video for Ninja Assassin, the James McTeigue directed and Wachowski Brothers produced film adaptation of the

The film stars Rain, Naomie Harris and Rick Yune and the full blurb is below, along with the behind the scenes footage which looks rather interesting. Bear in mind that this is pretty raw footage though, and it's genuinely behind the scenes.

Here's the full blurb fromt the IMDB listing for Ninja Assassin:

In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.

Now that sounds pretty interesting, and if you're concerned that perhaps the Wachowski curse is hitting again, do bear in mind that James McTeigue is directing, and the last time this team up worked it was for V for Vendetta (Filmstalker review), and that was a damn good film I'd say.

Here's another point to consider for the film success, it was written by Matthew Sand and J. Michael Straczynski.

So is Ninja Assassin looking any good? Well have a look and see what you think, there's no finished footage so it's hard to imagine, but look at those guys racing across the streets and imagine the style looking like V for Vendetta. I think that's promising.

There's also some commentary from both Naomie Harris and Rain, but it's been voiced over in German, so if anyone has a translated version, or could translate what they say and pass on anything interesting, please do.

Fighting scenes in the center of Berlin

This is the shooting of Ninja Assassin by the Warshowski brothers, well know by The Matrix trilogy. The main character Raizo is portrayed by Rain, the Korean pop star, who is for connoisseurs the Asian answer of Justin Timberlake. Looking at the shooting you get that just a beginner class of martial arts is not enough.

Rain: "It's a new style of kungfu, tyquondo, tai chi, so different, it's simply ninja. Ninja movements, ninja action, ninja expressions. Since last December I learned and trained a lot of this martial arts."Raizo was brought up in a foster home that was run by the clan. There he got trained as killer. As his best friend was killed of this clan he swore for revenge. In Berlin Mika discovered the clan and killers were set on her. Raizo and Mika are fighting together against the murderer and a hunt all over Europe is starting.

Naomi: "I did not really watch Ninja movies in the past, but I'm interested in the Ninjas in this special group with their special skills. Because of this I'm interested in Ninjas as much as in Mika's character. Fan's of this genre will be happy with it, but they have to be patient, the movie will not come to the cinemas before January 2009.

Many thanks for that Cloud, mucha appreciated!
