Rodriguez on Machete and Red Sonja

RobertRodriguez.jpgComic Con is happening right now in San Diego, which means loads of actors, actresses and directors are all previewing upcoming films. Robert Rodriguez has been talking about what's happening with Machete, and also it looks like Red sonja is still on with Rose McGowan.

Well it looks like all is well in the Rodriguez/McGowan household. Just as well probably considering how many projects they have on together.

Robert Rodriguez was talking on a panel about what's happening with Machete. Having written the script years ago, and made a faux trailer for Grindhouse, he says it's still on his list of films to make. Last we heard from Danny Trejo the film was looking like turning into a trilogy, and Rodriguez has confirmed that. He also talks about a mystery project which hasn't been announced yet. You can see the clip below on You Tube through Movies Online.

We can also expect to see Rose McGowan as Red Sonja in his remake of the film. Cinema Blend says Rodriguez will also be co-directing the film with Douglas Aarniokoski. And according to Rodriguez she's perfect for the part. Well he would say that!

Rose is a pistol. She's whip-smart, has attitude to burn, is sexy, extremely strong, yet has a vulnerable side that would surprise her closest friends. That description also fits Red Sonja.

Not being a huge fan I haven't seen the original. Is she as perfect for it as he would have us believe? Do you want to see a Machete trilogy?
