Val Kilmer and Xzibit are joining Bad Lieutenant.

Werner Herzog's updated non remake version of Bad Lieutenant, has two new cast members. Val Kilmer will play the partner of Nicolas Cage's Lieutenant. Xzibit will be playing Big Fade. The news comes from Jo Blo.

Variety say Val Kilmer has also joined the cast of Silver Cord. Directed by James Ordonez, it tells the story of Ordonez's brother who came back to life despite being declared dead several times. Also starring are Shane West, Cam Gigandet, Val Kilmer, Arielle Kebbel and Eric Balfour.

Writer and director Thomas McCarthy has a part in Roland Emmerich's 2012. He will play the partner of Amanda Peet's character, who is the ex wife of John Cusack's character.
