X-Men Origins: Wolverine footage has been seen...
Alex Proyas reveals he's not on Silver Surfer...
Keanu Reeves says Constantine 2 is dead...
Richard Dreyfuss is to narrate a controversial sounding documentary America Betrayed...
Hugh Jackman has been talking at Comic-Con about the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine film that he's starring in and he took along some footage for all to see. According to Yahoo News there were glimpses of Gambit, played by Taylor Kitsch, Kestrel, played by Will I Am (silly name) and Deadpool playing by Ryan Reynolds.
He told the audience that there was going to be a lot of berserker rage and prepped everyone by showing the start of the face off between Sabretooth, played by Liev Schreiber, and Wolverine where he says:
"I'm going to cut your goddamned head off. See if that works."
Apparently it did and the crowd went wild.
Richard Dreyfuss is one of my favourite actors, I just love him on screen, he's got such an engaging personality and has been in a couple of my favourite films, Always and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Now he's set to narrate a documentary called America Betrayed, which is indeed a break from some of the more entertaining films in his career.
The film is from Leslie Carde and is, according to a blurb in Variety:
"a scathing look at the way our government contributes to and profits from disasters both here and abroad..."
By "our government" it obviously means America. The documentary sounds a pretty serious push against those in power in the U.S.
Disappointingly the word that Alex Proyas was going to be directing a film about the Silver Surfer has been shot down in a ball of...well, whatever the Silver Surfer shoots, as Proyas says that he will not be directing the film. That is a damn shame, does that mean someone else has the task? Here's the comment through /Film:
"Unfortunately that is just a rumor. I don't know where that came from...I do like Silver Surfer, but I'm not going to be doing it."
While we're on the killing of rumours and what we'd hope would happen, Keanu Reeves told the audience at Comic-Con that Constantine 2 was dead. He said that Warner Bros. aren't working on a sequel because it didn't make enough money, and looking for something to blame he says it's the R-rating that killed it, through Bloody Disgusting:
"We got killed by [it] being an "R-rated" movie.."
It didn't make enough money and although he was interested in doing another, Warner Bros. have said no. The R-rating is a rubbish excuse quite frankly, it was a superb film and they should make another one, just look at some of the rubbish they are churning out just now and they're saying no to this?
