Terminator Salvation teaser trailer online in HD

TerminatorEndo.jpgThe teaser trailer for the much anticipated Terminator Salvation is online already, I swear these trailers are getting earlier and earlier, and this must be among some of the earliest footage from the film.

Of course there's not that much to see, and some people are already going crazy about the hype, but if you can take a breath and watch the trailer, there's some tease and some classic in there.

What is probably apparent from most of the footage from Terminator Salvation is that it doesn't seem that far into the war, it still looks like our world to an extent, although a bit bashed, and they haven't gone for perpetual light and dozens of Terminators.

Of course we wouldn't really know what the actual film would look like as this really is early footage, and I think you can see that in some of the shots, but as I say it's a good tease. However it is definitely not worth getting all hyped up about just yet.

I like the drum beat rising in there, but I'm not sure I like the busted television effect which bugged me throughout the trailer.

You can see it right here, or head over to Yahoo Movies [Flash:480p:720p:1080p] to see it in high definition through Coming Soon.

Update: The trailer is now over at Apple Trailers [QT:Embed:480p:720p:1080p] too.

What do you think then?

Terminator Salvation stars Christian Bale, Anton Yelchin, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Common, Bryce Dallas Howard and Helena Bonham Carter and is directed by McG.

The story shows John Connor really begin his fight against SkyNet in the post apocalyptic 2018. He meets Marcus Wright, a prisoner who's last memory before the nuclear war was being on death row, after that there's nothing. Connor must decide if he has been sent from the future or is really from the past, and what side he belongs to. At the same time they both embark on a mission to the heart of SkyNet and discover the "terrible secret" behind the attempted genocide of humans.

Oh please lord, don't let that be the bizarre storyline we heard about before, and please have something up the sleeve about Marcus over what I wrote about ages ago, which is serious spoiler territory.

Richard, my fellow Terminator fan, what do you think of the trailer? I think it's good, doesn't tell us much really but reminded me of Transformers a little bit, which is a bit...!

Check out the Terminator in a quick flash shot just after Connor lights the flare, which leads on to a human climbing a wall. Looks like the humans are being held captive.

Yeah I think it does have a good feel to it, that was what I was hinting at talking about that beat that sounds so much like the original opening score. I quite like it, and the feel that it's not a great leap into the future.

I never noticed that moment, I'm going to have to watch it again in HD and see. If they are being held captive it does suggest that they are looking that the horrendous plot twist that was reported ages ago, and frankly it's just not right.

The other thing that caught my eye is the first glimpse of a machine in it. You just get the briefest glimpse, but it has does look like a mix between a standing terminator and the flying one. I might try and grab me an HD screenshot of it.

Yes I know what you mean. It will be interesting to see the other terminators. If and when you look at the terminator I was telling you about, does it look like a man made to look like an endoskeleton or half man/half terminator (as in damaged)? My boss just watched it and said it looks like a man in a suit!

Okay you've spurred me on. HD screencaps taken and post coming up! Cheers Billy.

Haha, jolly good!

Greetings from Lanzarote....

I love Terminator, and the little we got to see looks good. I HATE that busted TV effect though.

Hey, welcome Louise! Good to see you. Hope you're having a holiday, and get yourself over to see those stills, they're way cool.

can't wait to see it.

humans held captive :D

will we see Skynet studying humain anatomy to create the T-800 :D

Yeah that's what I was thinking. You might want to check out this story for more on that topic.
