Harrelson turns zombie

WoodyHarrelson.jpgNow this is an interesting and off the wall piece of casting, Woody Harrelson is going to be starring in a horror comedy, and one about zombies. Now is that not the most unexpected piece of casting you've heard? It is for me.

Zombieland is the film which will see two survivors of a zombie infestation become friends and find redemption through their life fighting the zombies.

Of course it's not totally out of the blue as he's picked up another rather unusual role, he's appearing in Roland Emmerich's disaster epic 2012.

Sure he's a big name star and it shouldn't be much of a surprise, but Woody Harrelson has been known for picking up the rather more unusual and less mainstream roles.

Zombieland is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and, according to Yahoo News, sees Harrelson play a zombie fighter who meets up with another survivor and together they find redemption in a world of zombies.

I can't say that it sounds spectacular or anything, and it might be in trouble of copying some of the clever writing from Shaun of the Dead, but who knows, it's far too early to write something off on a blurb and the very inclusion of Harrelson should be enough to raise interest.
