Pegg off Bastard and Paul director announced
Simon Pegg will not be in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards, which is probably a good thing considering the cast list seems to be slipping somewhat in stature from his previous films, and considering Pegg's recent work maybe it's better that he sticks to the films that made him famous, of which there is also news of a director.
So not only is Pegg off Bastards, and we hear of his new film, but there's also another casting announcement for Inglorious Bastards.
Quentin Tarantino's latest film has gained Samm Levine most known for Freaks and Geeks, and no offence to Levine, but this cast list is dropping somewhat from Brad Pitt, it's certainly not gaining the type of cast that Pulp Fiction did. That news comes from AICN through Latino Review.
“Much to our mutual disappointment, I won't be appearing in QT's forthcoming Inglorious Bastards due to insurmountable scheduling difficulties. We really tried to make it work but in the end, it just was not possible without severe ramifications elsewhere.
I'm trying to remain upbeat, as Tom Selleck said 'Who the hell is Indiana Jones anyway?'”
Well I doubt you'll be looking back on that casting choice in that way, honestly I don't think the two are comparable, and I don't think that this film is going to be on the level of Indiana Jones.
However he does have good news in that Greg Mottola, who directed Superbad, will be directing his new film, Paul. Apparently they've managed to keep that a secret for months, well done them, and it does show that you can keep secrets about films in productions. It's all about trustworthy people and not leaking out information to build hype and blaming it on leaks!!
