Aykroyd wishes for Ghostbusters 3
Dan Aykroyd has been talking about a possible third Ghostbusters film, and his short comment is being taken as word that there is movement on a Ghostbusters script and that it's being written.
Well, I don't think so. What he's saying is that there are rumours and he would love the rumours to be true, and that's it, nothing more. Sorry Ghostbuster fans.
The comments come from an online video of Dan Aykroyd over at EOnline through /Film which you can see below, and believe me, this is short as short can be.
Now, he says:
"Well, you know, two sharp young writers are purported to be writing the sequel, the third movie now. If I could interest Seth and Judd to be part of it, that would be an absolute dream."
That means Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow writing the script for a third Ghostbusters, a rumour that hit the Interflab a while ago and spread like wildfire. Of course Rogen and Apatow knew nothing about it, and if you bear that in mind and listen to Aykroyd's comments then you can clearly see that he's talking about the rumour and nothing else.
From the Cambridge Dictionary online:
purported adjective [not gradable] claimed but not proved to be true
Of course he would love it if the two purported writers were writing the script, but they aren't. Of course if we all keep this up they might get interested. However I hope not, I'd rather see Ghostbusters 3 that isn't filled with sex, drug and bodily function jokes, that wasn't Ghostbusters.
