Kung Fu Panda sequel dead?

KungFuPanda.jpgIt looks like it could well be as the news arrives of what could be the sequel that DreamWorks were already reportedly hard at work on has been revealed as a DVD extra for the original film, or perhaps it is.

It's not confirmed that this was the project, and there may still be a sequel in the works, but for now it looks like any thought of a Kung Fu Panda 2 is dead.

The Kung Fu Panda DVD is due out on November 9th and it will come with an additional short extra called Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five, according to reports from Cinema Blend and WENN through IMDB.

There's no word on the length of the film at the moment, although as an extra on the DVD you might not expect it to be full length.

Honestly I don't really see that the world needed a theatrical release of a King Fu Panda sequel, really. Yes I know it was fun, but CB are quick to point out, and I agree, that it'll just go the way of so many franchises and begin to water down the characters and story lines. Look at Shrek.

What do you think? Is there room for another feature?
