Stalked: Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro
Tom Cruise might be in Shrek Goes Fourth
And Robert De Niro has left Edge of Darkness
Having had a role in the comedy Tropic Thunder, Tom Cruise could be providing a voice for one of the characters in Shrek Goes Fourth. According to Cinema Blend, the rumour is that Cruise could be playing a villain in the next film. The fourth film is due for release in 2010, with the plot rumoured to show how Shrek ended up in a smamp in the first place.
Not so long ago we heard that Robert De Niro had joined Mel Gibson in Edge of Darkness. Based on a BBC mini series, Gibson plays a cop who investigates when his daughter is killed. All kinds of secret are revealed, leading all the way to the Government. De Niro had signed on to play an operative sent to clean up any evidence of wrong doing.
Now a spokesman has told Variey, through Coming Soon, that De Niro has left the production. They cited "creative differences". The thought of Gibson and De Niro together was pretty interesting, but I guess we'll have to wait and see who replaces him in Edge of Darkness.
