Van Sant's Milk trailer online
Well, almost. The trailer for Milk, the film about Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in America. An office which he held for merely a year before Dan White, another city supervisor in San Francisco, shot him and the mayor, George Moscone, killing them both.
The trailer has almost arrived in Quicktime and high definition, in the meantime I have it right here in flash. I suspect it won't be long before the HD trailer is online, so keep your eyes peeled.
Sean Penn plays Harvey Milk in the film from Gus Van Sant, and already this should have your cinematic mouths watering in anticipation. It also stars Josh Brolin as Dan White, and Victor Garber as the Mayor. Other notable stars are James Franco and Eric Stoltz.
Harvey Milk moved to San Francisco and ran for office two times before being elected on his third. Dan White shot him and the Mayor over a disagreement regarding his attempt to take back his resignation from the board, apparently he blamed these two men for not taking him back to office.
There have been a few books and a documentary about the man already, The Times of Harvey Milk. however Milk is going to explore the man's personal life as well as his professional life, and with Sean Penn playing the lead in Gus Van Sant's film, I think we'll be in for something very powerful.

What do you think? Something you want to see? I think it could be a fantastic performance from Penn. The trailer does seem to play up the rivalry between Milk and White, is that how it really was?
