Will Petersen wants CSI film?

WilliamPetersen.jpgWilliam Petersen is leaving CSI soon, and he'll be replaced by Laurence Fishburne. In an interview before he leaves, he has dropped a hint about a CSI film.

I like CSI Vegas, but wouldn't a film end up basically being an extended episode of the TV series?

After over 8 seasons of CSI Vegas, William Peterson is leaving the series. Grissom will be replaced by Laurence Fishburne. In an interview about his upcoming departure, Petersen was asked if he was heading off to make films. He had this to say to TV Guide through Cinema Blend:

If this was about going off and making films, I’d stay on CSI. I’d love to see us make a CSI film. That’s the other reason Grissom isn’t going to die of a brain tumor. It could be good if we did it right. The whole world is interested in the show.

A CSI film? Like I say I think that would end up being an extended episode. But from what I hear Sex and the City managed to pull it off. I can see it working once Petersen has been gone for a while. Maybe a one off with him back working with the team? What would change if it was a film? The only major thing I can think is that the effects would be bigger and better. But would it be as big a success as Sex and the City?
