Update: Angels & Demons trailer online in HD

AngelsandDemons.jpgThe first trailer for Angels & Demons, the film sequel but book prequel to The Da Vinci Code (Filmstalker review), has arrived online.

While it's not earth shattering, it does look pretty exciting and action packed, and the trailer is keeping the tension high. You know there's the possibility that this could be better than Da Vinci Code, just like the book was.

Once again Ron Howard directs the film from the Akiva Goldsman adaptation of the Dan Brown novel, and this time we follow Robert Langdon working to solve some more murders which are a small part of a much bigger picture, who'd have guessed? This time there's a plot against the Vatican and the Illuminati are involved.

Oh and Tom Hanks is back again, this time with Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgård, Ayelet Zurer and Armin Mueller-Stahl.

Here's the trailer for Angels & Demons, it's all too brief and fast cut, but you get the idea.

What do you think? Although it's way too short to really judge, it is looking better than The Da Vinci Code, way early days though.

Update: The trailer is now available in high definition over at Yahoo Movies.

I have always believed that A&D was the better book than DVC, but just the same it had an abrupt and rather silly ending, I wonder how that will translate into film.

And, Tom Hanks and Ewan McGregor together, that's more than enough reason to see this!

Hmm... nice tracking shot of the Vatican and all, but I don't think they showed enough to give me a real taste of the film.

I read Angels and Demons and I don't recall much about the plot, except being a bit disappointed that it wasn't as exciting as DaVinci Code. I will see A&D, but my expectations are not terribly high.
