Downey Jr.'s Sherlock Holmes

SherlockHolmes.jpgThe first images of Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritche's new film have appeared online, and I'm not too sure what to think. Sure it's just a look a the moment, and we don't know anything about the story and the acting - although I'm sure it's going to be superb - but the look doesn't inspire me.

Perhaps it's just the fact that he looks so much like Charlie Chaplin when he played that role.

You can see all the images over at JustJared through IESB, and there are a fair few.

Seeing Sherlock Holmes drinking Starbucks is rather funny, and is it me or does Guy Ritchie look very out of place and awkward in these shots. Doesn't really look like he's the director there, more like the runner!

That aside, see what you think of the look of Holmes as played by Robert Downey Jr.? I think the bowler hat looks daft with the rather less than flattering clothes, actually looks a little like he's disguised as a down and out. What do you think?
