Kevin Smith in space?
Kevin Smith is going into space with his usual mix of comedy, except this time he's going to add something a little extra.
This time he's looking at a father and son relationship rather than the usual male and female relationship story. Of course the usual characters will no doubt be there and the usual humour, just in space.
I keep thinking of Pigs in Space, that Muppet Show series, or Kenny Everett's Captain Kremen. However I'm sure it'll be much better than that and it's not merely going to be Clerks in space...you would hope.
"All the relationships in the flicks I've done before have been either a guy falling for a girl or two dudes hanging out in a 'bromantic' comedy...I wanted to explore a father and son."
Through Yahoo News Kevin Smith said that he's looking forward to exploring new dynamics and the topic of outer space as a whole.
This doesn't spell the end of Red State though, he's still going ahead with that project, if he can get it made anywhere. The rumour mill has it that the script has been read by the Weinstein's and that they are keen to get involved, however that was just the first draft, and the insider also suggests that it isn't complete, nor did the Weinstein's read a complete version of it.
