My Name is Bruce trailer online

MyNameisBruce.jpgThe trailer has arrived for My Name is Bruce and I can't help but watch it with a slight tinge of sadness. I'll tell you why. I was so taken with Bubba Ho-tep (Filmstalker review) and the news that Bruce Campbell is definitely not returning to the role of Elvis in the sequel has me disappointed from the outset. I find myself wondering what could live up to that role.

Of course there are creative choices, it's his career, and he's got other fans to please, but it doesn't help when I'm trying to view this trailer afresh. Still, it's My Name is Bruce, the latest film he's directing, and the idea seems superb.

Actually My Name is Bruce looks a lot of fun, and the character he's playing, the Hollywood version of himself, seems strangely similar to the one he plays in Burn Notice, and all that's good. The humour looks strong and the film enjoyable.

The creature however, I'm not so sure and I wonder if it looks a little too un-menacing. Of course there is a low budget to the film, and perhaps it'll all be sold on the script, story and characters. What am I saying, that's how every film should be sold.

Okay, I'm talking myself in circles here. The trailer looks good, I'm just still a little sore about Bubba Nosferatu and the Curse of the She-Vampires. Move on Richard.

You can watch the trailer over at Apple Trailers [QT:iPod:S:M:L:480p:720p:1080p].

On a side note why are Apple as restrictive as Microsoft? Why can't I use my non-Apple portable video player to download and watch the film too?
