Sixteen years ago Steven Seagal made Under Siege, and one dodgy sequel, now he's talking about a third one. Like it or not, he and some other suckers for punishment are coming up with ideas. And some of them are a little strange to say the least. Let's just say that aliens are involved...

I remember really liking the first one, it was a decent action film. Could a third really be any good?

Under Siege had Steven Seagal as a cook on a US Navy warship, only as you'd expect he wasn't your ordinary chef. No, he was an ex Navy SEAL. So when a bunch of terrorists tried to take over the ship, he introduced them to some pain. Oh and some woman from Baywatch was in it. And from what I can remember the second was pretty much the same, but on a train, and minus Baywatch lady.

Since then Seagal has been in a fair few straight to video efforts, but now he's eyeing another Under Siege film. He's been talking to MTV Movies Blog:

There are offers and we’re looking at them. I personally want it to be something more modern. In other words, I wouldn’t mind if it was about something more mystical or…maybe extraterrestrial in nature. Some real government top secrets instead of just the typical.

Extraterrestrial? Seagal putting the hurt on a bunch of aliens? Surely not. I can see him busting his way through some government complex somewhere though. I'm only interested in this if it's in a similar vein to the first. Could this really be a return to form for Seagal?
