Stalked: Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Javier Bardem, Guy Pearce
Ben Stiller could be directing The Trial of the Chicago 7.
Dustin Hoffman wants to play Maynard Nottage.
Javier Bardem is in Biutiful.
And Guy Pearce will be in Animal Kingdom.
Another director is joining the list associated with The Trial of the Chicago 7. Steven Spielberg was originally going to direct, but then left the project. And recently Paul Greengrass was rumoured to be in discussions. Now Ben Stiller is said to be in early talks about taking over. Considering the film is about the riots at the 1968 Democratic convention, it's a big change for Stiller. More known for his comedies, could he pull this film off? The news is from The Hollywood Reporter.
Dustin Hoffman could be playing Maynard Nottage, in a film of his life. I'd never heard of him until 5 minutes ago, but apparently he was a PR guru in the era of silent movies. And has a lot to do with the celebrity world we live in today. It would also seem he lived a rather full life, including booze and women. Cinematical also say that Tony Kaye wants to direct the film.
Javier Bardem is going to star in Biutiful. It will be written and directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. Variety say he wrote this one solo, after a falling out with writing partner Guillermo Arriaga. The film is about a man involved in some dodgy dealings, who is confronted by a childhood friend, who also happens to be a policeman.
Guy Pearce will be in Animal Kingdom. It's an Australian drama, about a boy caught between his criminal family, and a policeman who thinks he can help him out. Pearce will be the cop in question. The news is from Variety.
