Stalked: Cleopatra, Lisa Lopez, Chris Columbus, Cillian Murphy
Steven Soderbergh is turning Cleopatra into a rock musical.
Monique Coleman wants to play Lisa Lopes.
Chris Columbus may be taking over Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
And Cillian Murphy has joined Perrier’s Bounty.
When you think about films focusing on Cleopatra, you probably think about lavish epics. Steven Soderbergh has other ideas though, he's planning on making a 3-D live-action rock ’n’ roll musical about her. Who does he want to play Cleopatra, it's only Catherine Zeta-Jones. He's also hoping Hugh Jackman will play Marc Anthony. Unfortunately he's picked two things I'm not a fan of. Musicals, 3-D oh and Catherine Zeta-Jones, might as well make it three then. The news is from Variety.
High School Musical's Monique Coleman has a dream of playing Lisa Lopes. She was one third of R&B trio TLC. They sold 22 million albums during their career. Lopes died in a car crash in 2002. Coleman says she has been doing research on the group and wants to play Lopes. The news is from IMDB.
Variety say Chris Columbus is in talks to take over Ripley’s Believe It or Not!. Tim Burton was originally supposed to direct it, but production was halted in 2007. Now Columbus has come up with a new concept, which both the studio and star Jim Carrey like.
Cillian Murphy, Jim Broadbent and Brendan Gleeson will all star in Perrier’s Bounty. Murphy is taking over the role previously lined up for James McAvoy. The film tells the story of three men on the run from a gangster boss, after one of his gang members is accidentally killed. The news is from Variety.
