Stalked: Firth is Single Man, new Hellraiser director, Downey on Marvel, Eckhart as Ryan?

Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode are leading Tom Ford's first directorial film, A Single Man...

Pascal Laugier, the writer and director of Martyrs, is in negotiations to remake Hellraiser...

Is Aaron Eckhart considering Jack Ryan?...

Robert Downey Jr. has signed for Iron Man 2 and 3 as well as The Avengers...

Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode are leading A Single Man from first time director Tom Ford. The film is based on the novel by Christopher Isherwood and is adapted by Tom Ford and David Scearce. It tells the story of a British college professor who loses his partner after sixteen years together. The story comes from Variety.

Pascal Laugier is the writer and director of Martyrs, a French horror film that has been receiving a lot of praise as well as controversy. Now he's in final negotiations to direct the remake of Hellraiser. What's interesting about the story from The Hollywood Reporter is that it says write and direct, and that makes the third or fourth attempt at writing a script for the film. Hopefully his version will keep him on the job as he certainly wants to direct:

“This is a dream project for me...I know Clive Barker's work very well, and I would never betray what he has done. Fans are expecting a definitive 'Hellraiser,' and I don't want to take that away from them.”

The speculation has started now that we know Jack Ryan is on a fast track to filming, and the second rumoured actor for the role is Aaron Eckhart, I say second because Ryan Gosling has been mentioned for the role for a very long time now. The rumour comes from Moviehole through Cinema Blend. Certainly seems a good choice, but it's speculation at the moment.

Variety tells us that Robert Downey Jr. has signed with Marvel for Iron Man 2, no surprise there, but Variety tells us that he's also signed up for Iron Man 3 and The Avengers film. He's going to be busy. The Avengers looks set to appear just a year after Iron Man 2 and a year before Iron Man 3.
