Stalked: Rob Reiner, Haunted
Rob Reiner is directing Book of Shadows.
And Chuck Palahniuk's Haunted is being made into a film.
Rob Reiner has signed up to direct another film. Only the other day, we heard he was to direct Travel Writer. And now he has agreed to direct Book of Shadows. The Hollywood Reporter says the plot sounds like this:
The story follows a young man who must embark on the perilous journey of first love and face many trials of maturity while on the dangerous quest to close a mythical tome called "Book of Shadows" in order to restore balance to the world.
Another one of Chuck Palahniuk's novels is to be made into a film. Fight Club and Choke have both been adapted. And the next one is Haunted. I haven't read the book, but Variety has a rough plot:
"Haunted" revolves around a group of characters who answer an ad for a writers retreat and unwittingly end up competing in a "Survivor"-like scenario, where the host withholds heat, power and food. As the storytellers grow more desperate they ruthlessly plot to make themselves the hero of the reality show or film that they expect will be made from their plight.
Sounds like it could turn into a run of the mill horror. Anyone read the book, is there more to it?
