Superman reboot update
Over a month ago the Superman reboot was confirmed. And it left a lot of unanswered questions. Would Bryan Singer be back? Would a new Superman be cast?
Well now one of the those questions seems to have been answered. The reboot of Superman, might yet still star Brandon Routh.
Usually when something is totally rebooted, they recast the main character. Unless someone is famous for making that role. Sylvester Stallone in Rocky, Bruce Willis in Die Hard. But after one lukewarm outing as Superman, we could be seeing Brandon Routh back as the superhero in a rebooted Superman.
Latino Review caught up with Paul Levitz, President of DC Comics. And he has this to say when asked what was happening with the new Superman film.
Last week Brandon Routh has come around the offices in New York and Los Angeles as of late to talk about Superman and what we want to do.
Seems everyone at involved really liked Routh, and thinks he still has a lot to offer Superman. Maybe they think he didn't get the best of films to work with? They also quizzed him on Batman 3, and that film will determine what happens with Superman.
Everyone is waiting for Nolan to sign on for another Batman, once that happens, the release date for Superman and all other future projects will follow.
The release schedule could look like this if DC have their way. Green Lantern would be out in Summer 2010, Batman 3 would be in Summer 2011, and the Superman reboot would follow the next summer in 2012.
So a reboot, but perhaps with the same star. Would you be happy if Brandon Routh was still Superman? Would a change in tone, or a different approach be enough? Or do you want an all new Superman, literally?
