The International international trailer

NaomiWatts.jpgThe international trailer for, wait for it, The International, has arrived online today and it looks a lot more actiona packed and less thriller-esque than the previous one.

The film stars Clive Owen, Naomi Watts, Armin Mueller-Stahl and Ulrich Thomsen in a film about international banking. Oh no, it isn't as boring as it sounds, and it's not about economic collapse, it's about a huge international bank that does much more than looking after money, it deals in arms and coups.

Clive Owen is the Interpol agent who is going to tear down the corrupt business and Naomi Watts plays a District Attorney who gets caught up in the affair, on Owen's side of course. They travel across the globe to track down a way into the organisation and to find a man who can bring the whole company down.

The previous trailer looked okay, but that Woo-esque rooftop scene just didn't seem to fit for me. That scene is still there, but the rest of the trailer looks more action packed and exciting than the previous one.

Have a look at it and see what you think. I'm liking it, although I think it will end up being action over intelligence.

Still, Tom Twyker is directing and it stars the excellent Ulrich Thomsen and Armin Mueller-Stahl, that has to grab you.

I like the look of this. I think Clive Owen is always enjoyable to watch. It's strange how he has gone into big action movies since being rumoured to be in Casino Royale a few years ago.

Yeah, that is a little strange that he's done some action films, but I think he's doing a good job of balancing them out with more serious roles.

That said he doesn't get the recognition for them as much as the action ones. Under the IMDB search it says:

"1.Clive Owen (Actor, Shoot 'Em Up (2007))"

That'll be him then, but Shoot 'Em Up as the film to benchmark him against? Really?

Shoot 'Em Up was awful I thought. It had some good moments, but I just didn't get it... maybe?

Anyone knows who plays the music used in the trailer for "The International"?

Well with thanks to an Adtunes forum post it might well be:

The Ball by Craig Armstrong from Plunkett and Macleane original soundtrack.
