Murphy on third Nutty Professor!
Nutty Professor? Bleeding lunatic if you ask me. What is Eddie Murphy thinking even considering this film? It's obvious that he's in it for the money and not for making good films any more. However there is a chance that he might come good.
Murphy hasn't signed up as yet, but the word is that the film is in development and he's holding back until the right writer and director appear.
I just don't know what's happening with this man who was once such a strong talent, and looking as though he was going to be a versatile one, and then he ends up doing Nutty Professor, Doctor Dolittle, Norbit and Meet Dave.
There he just kept repeating the same formula, play multiple parts, play it loud and brash, and go for cheap laughs, particularly the fart gags. Oh, and keep it for the kiddies. This coming from the man who did Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hrs, Trading Places and even Boomerang.
According to The Hollywood Reporter through Empire Eddie Murphy's not yet on board and his participation is dependant on his approval of the writer and the director. Tell you what Murphy, why don't you chose some people who'll bend to your desires and create some bad taste comedy filled with base jokes and let you play every part?
