Star Trek trailer in HD

StarTrek_Poster.jpgNow we get the chance to see the new Star Trek trailer in high definition, and it clears up a lot of questions that the first trailer raised. It clears up a few as well and shows us some interesting dynamics between the characters.

I'm curious though, are the big Star Trek fans keen on this trailer, or is it one purely for those who can take or leave the franchise, or those who haven't even seen the films before?

Now we get to see the amazing full shot that was teased at with the first teaser trailer, the Starship being assembled, and assembled on the ground. It looks truly fantastic, but I don't know why I'm not looking at that shot with the same excitement that I was with the teaser, or I was when the old crew slowly drifted by the refitted Enterprise in space dock.

Then we get the very short background for Spock and the set-up that shows when he was younger he had much less control over his emotions, and that Kirk and Spock are at each other's throats, and it's much more down to Kirk pushing Spock to show his emotions.

Then there's Kirk and Uhuru getting down and dirty with each other, which is even more surprising. They don't leave out the rest of the crew though, Bones and Scotty both get a look in, as does the new bad guy.

It all looks pretty exciting and with the amazing special effects it's going to look superb on the big screen.

Still, I'm not getting that Star Trek feel from it. I wonder if that is what J.J. Abrams was after when he said that he was going to try appealing to everyone with this film?

Right, see for yourself by heading over to Apple Trailers [iPod:S:M:L:480p:720p:1080p] and catching the new high definition trailer.
