Closed: Win The Ring Finger (L' Annulaire) on DVD

TheRingFinger.jpgThere are copies of The Ring Finger (L' Annulaire) to win on DVD - For the ladies think a psychological French film exploring relationships, for the men think Olga Kurylenko in an unusual erotic film.

Olga Kurylenko from Quantum of Solace and Hitman, stars in The Ring Finger giving a strong performance, and you can own the DVD for free.

Here's the official blurb for the film:

“Slicing off her ring finger at the factory where she works, Iris (Kurylenko) finds herself taking new employment as a laboratory assistant for a tightly wound curator whose business specialises in preserving the memories of its clientele. Unaware of it at first, Iris drifts into an increasingly erotic and fetishistic relationship with her employer, all the while pining for the attention of an ethereal, enigmatic sailor who shares her hotel room during the hours she is at work.

Kurylenko, the next Bond girl, gives an intriguing and arousing performance as Iris, saying as much - and often times more with her face and body than she ever does with her words. The relationship she has with her employer is as psychologically complex as it is physically stimulating, and it gives an eye-opening take on the notion of fetishistic control.”

I've watched it and the review is coming, but for now let me say that it is a beautifully shot film, if somewhat confusing, but I know it will appeal to French cinema fans. Oh and Olga Kurylenko is gorgeous in it, as well as showing that she really can act.

The Ring Finger is adapted from Yoko Ogawa's novel by Diane Bertrand who also directs. Marc Barbé stars as the mysterious scientist that Iris, played well by Kurylenko, works for and develops a rather strange relationship with.

Kurylenko actually won a certificate of excellence at the Brooklyn International Film Festival for her performance in the film which was nominated for a Golden Kinnaree Award at the Bangkok International Film Festival. Not huge plaudits, but good none the less.
