The only cast iron news we have on The Avengers so far, is that Robert Downey Jr will be in it. Other than Tony Stark though, the cast is a bit thin on the ground at the minute.

Enter a rumoured new cast member, Eva Longoria as The Wasp.

When Jon Favreau named who he thought would be in The Avengers, it went something like this.

...the ones Marvel is talking about now are Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man and Iron Man. I would love to see that.

Robert Downey Jr is now confirmed as playing Tony Stark, but the others are still up in the air. As of now there is no one cast as Thor, Ant-man or Captain America. We may be seeing Ant-Man's other half though, and played by none other than Eva Longoria.

It was a while ago that Longoria was seen leaving Marvel Studios carrying a pile of Avengers comics. But according to Comic Book Movie, more and more people seem to think she will be playing The Wasp in The Avengers.

Well it may not be that official but tons of sources tell me that Eva Longoria from TV's Desperate Housewives, is set and ready to play Wasp in the upcoming Avengers movie.

Not being a Desperate Housewives fan, I can see her playing The Wasp. She doesn't stick in my mind as her TV show character. Would you like to see her playing The Wasp?
