Singer not directing Superman: Man of Steel?

BryanSinger.jpgAlthough there's no official confirmation as yet, there is a rather big hint that Bryan Singer may not be directing the new Superman film, Superman: Man of Steel, but that he might still be involved in the production.

He was talking about the film and managed to successfully avoid answering any questions about whether he was going to be directing the Superman film or not, but there's a certain direction this seems to be going in the interview, one which might suggest Bryan Singer won't be directing the film.

It's tenuous, that is for certain, but if you look at his answers there's most definitely a slant towards the idea that he won't be directing but might be producing in some capacity.

Here's the real key moment for me from the interview with Bryan Singer regarding Superman: Man of Steel, just read this carefully and try and read between the lines while you're at it.

UGO: Are you officially involved in this talk of the new film?
BS: I am not officially involved in the talk, no.

UGO: But when talk happens they'll call you.
BS: Well it's, you know, I have relationships with Warner Brothers and with the character and, and, and, and it's just the way things work out.

UGO: But you are not divorced from Superman at this point.
BS: No.

Thanks to UGO for the interview snippet. I definitely get the impression that he may not be directing the film but he will be involved in the project. What do you think?
