The Reader featurette online
There's a superb twenty-two minute featurette online for The Reader featuring the lead cast members, producers, director and writers all talking about the film, the story, and each other, as well as the usual behind the scenes filming.
It's a superb featurette that really does push you over the edge if you were sitting on the fence about seeing this film, it's superb.
The Reader is the story of teenager Michael Berg who is suffering from scarlet fever and is helped home one night by a stranger called Hanna. Once he has recovered he seeks her out to thank her and they are drawn together and begin a relationship, despite her being twice his age. He reads to her while she teaches him about love and life.
However one day she disappears from his life and he is left confused and heartbroken. Some eight years later he's a law student observing some Nazi war crime trials and sees Hanna as one of the accused. He watches the trial transfixed and begins to discover some shocking truth about himself and their relationship.
It stars Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes and David Kross, and is directed by Stephen Daldry with a screenplay by David Hare, from the novel by Bernhard Schlink (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com
) a roll call of fantastically talented names.
I'd recommend catching The Reader featurette over at Apple Trailers [iPod:S:M:L] it isn't just interesting in itself, but it also makes you realise that this is going to be one hell of a film.
