McG gives more Terminator Salvation details
McG has given a small update on Terminator Salvation, he talks about the potential voiceover by Linda Hamilton. And also the music score, including whether or not they are using the original Terminator theme.
Plus he's arranging a screening for the man himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
McG had already mentioned that he hoped to get Linda Hamilton to provide a voiceover of some kind. Originally we thought it was perhaps to fill in some gaps, but McG is talking about referring all the way back to those tapes we saw her recording in Terminator 2. He's already on the case to get her involved:
We're in the business of doing that right now. So we'll see what happens. She seems to be very supportive of the film, I look forward to showing it to her in about a week or so. The tapes that she left for her son to be aware of what it was going to take to win the war, those are the tapes that are going to bring us in and out of the picture.
He was talking to Sci-Fi Wire. I like the idea of that, would be a good way of bringing her back in, without a voiceover that could be done by other characters really. He also confirms thay they will be using parts of the original Terminator theme, by Brad Fiedel.
We use a great deal of Brad Fidel's original theme. See, I love it.
Good news, I was none too impressed at the idea of it being omitted. McG also has plans to show it to the Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, but wouldn't comment on rumours of an appearance by the big man. I am officially excited about Terminator Salvation, the only thing that worries me are the new Terminators. They sound a fair bit more advanced than the ones I remember. I'm sure they'll look great though.
So we may be hearing more of those tapes, and getting the theme tune of our choice. All sounding good?
