Finally, after the rough footage of the Crank 2: High Voltage trailer was seen on Filmstalker a while ago, now the official trailer has arrived, and it’s looking much better but still much like a direct to DVD film.

I’m sure there’s plenty of post-production work to be done as yet, so we will be seeing something of much higher production values when the film comes out, but this is the first trailer which gives us a feel for the pace, action and storyline.

I’m a fan of Jason Statham in action films, and he’s not given enough credit for this, but he’s an action hero that really can carry out the action and can fight pretty damn well. Of course he can actually act too, well nowadays anyway, but he’s just not given the chance much.

Not that I’m complaining about seeing him in another Crank (Filmstalker review) film, because the first was great fun, and this looks like it’s going to be more of the same and then some.

I’m just not sure what role Amy Smart is going to play in Crank 2: High Voltage, and I’m wondering if this just might go too far over the top, I mean her character served a clear purpose in the first film and here she's at it again. Have a look and see what you think.
