Watchmen news clip online

Watchmen_Poster.jpgNot only am I not one for throwing up every marketing clip that comes along, but I'm definitely not one for talking about every piece of marketing that comes along. However the latest one for the Watchmen is rather interesting.

There's a site called The New Frontiersman which is running a blog from the timeline of Watchmen, and they've just posted a clip online entitled “NBS Nightly News with Ted Philips, March 11th 1970”, a faked news clip where the newsreaders talk about the tenth anniversary of Dr. Manhattan.

It's an interesting little clip and a cool site, but doesn't really make that much impact unless you're already a fan of the Watchmen graphic novel.

You can go and see The New Frontiersman site online, but first have a look at the short below and see what you think, it's a cool clip, but I still can't help but think that the clip of Manhattan taking apart the tank looks very cartoon-y, much less realistic CGI. I do hope it's an old shot that's either been massively upgraded or just isn't being used.

Very cool stuff.
