Ghostbusters 3 filming in September?

Ghostbusters.jpgGhostbusters 3 has been much talked about with not much happening. A script has been in development since last year, and some of the original actors seem to be dancing around the subject.

Now Dan Ackroyd has been asked what is happening, and it looks like filming could start this year.

It was in September last year, when we first heard about the Ghostbusters 3 script. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who also worked on the US version of the office, were writing a script for a third film. It seemed at the time that there were a lot of potential stumbling blocks to the script being made. Bill Murray's reluctance being one of them.

He has since softened a little bit, and is more open to the idea of a new film. But the script has the original stars as mentors to a younger bunch, as opposed to being the stars of the film. It has since gone a bit quiet on the Ghostbusters front, but Dan Ackroyd was asked where the film was recently, and he had this to say:

Script is commenced early summer. Hope to be in production by late fall 2009.

So there we have it. The script hasn't been given the go ahead yet, but it might not be far away. That comment was courtesy of AICN. I guess we'll need to wait and see if the story is still along the same line as it was previously. Are you still up for Ghostbusters 3? Should the original actors be the stars of the third film, and not merely mentors?
