Stalked: Drew Barrymore, Damn Yankees, Seth Green, The B Team

Could Drew Barrymore be directing Eclipse?

Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal are starring in Damn Yankees.

Seth Green is voicing Mars Needs Moms.

And Adam McKay is directing Will Ferrell again.

The third film in the Twilight series has already been given the go ahead, that's before the second is really underway. Chris Weitz has passed on directing duties for Eclipse, so now the makers are on the look out for someone else. Entertainment Weekly, through Jo Blo, say that Drew Barrymore is a potential director. She is talking to the studio about the possibility after directing her first film, Whip it! Early days though, so it could all fall apart. Could be interesting.

Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal are to team up in a film version of the musical, Damn Yankees. Gyllenhaal will play a man obsessed with a professional baseball team, who makes a deal with the devil to help his team. He is then transformed into a great baseball player, in exchange for his soul. His get out clause is only available in the middle of the World Series. Carrey will play the devil, who tries to stop Gyllenhaal going back to his old life. A contemporary musical with Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal, can't wait to see this one. The news is from Variety.

Seth Green is to star in Mars Needs Moms, a performance capture film. Also starring is Mindy Sterling, Dan Fogler and Joan Cusack. The film is based on a children's book, which sees a young boy stowaway on an alien spaceship. His mum has been kidnapped by aliens, and he sets out to get her back. Mindy Sterling will be playing the leader of the aliens, this from the woman who played Frau Farbissina in Austin Powers. The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter.

The B Team, which we told you about the other day, has a director and a studio. The action comedy has Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as cops. Sony has now taken the project on, and Adam McKay is directing. He's already worked with Ferrell on Talladega Nights and Step Brothers. News is from Variety.

--It's 2010! -but long rich and established
'daring' actor Jim Carrey can't seem to find
anything more worthwhile than stale and hollow
reruns ---like this!

-Hey Jim! ---WE---SEEN---IT---ALREADY!
