Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock trailer online

TakingWoodstock.jpgThe trailer for Ang Lee's latest film, Taking Woodstock, has arrived online and it's looking a hell of a lot of fun, and it has a rather amusing introduction from Demetri Martin – I love his stick figure drawings of the cast.

There are some great cast members too, and it was a surprise to see Liev Schreiber dressed as a woman with a weapon strapped to his leg – yes I did say that.

The film follows the events leading up to the Woodstock music festival itself, when they were initially refused a permit for their festival a small neighbouring town came through with just what they needed.

The film is based on Elliot Tiber's memoirs Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, a Concert, and a Life (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) as the man who was working in his family business running a small motel and struggling with what he really wanted to be. He had a second job as the event permit manager and issued one every year for his own little music festival, but when he heard Woodstock had been refused theirs he called them up and made an offer.

Little did he know how big the whole event would become and what a cultural moment it was destined to be in everyone's lives, not just his own.

Directed by Ang Lee – can you see that multiple screen moment? - and starring Demetri Martin, Emile Hirsch, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Liev Schreiber, Paul Dano, Eugene Levy, Dan Fogler, and many more, the trailer has arrived online through /Film and looks pretty good and lots of fun.
