Bekmambetov's Black Lightning teaser online

TimurBekmambetov.jpgTimur Bekmambetov has shown his mettle with the Russian Watch series, so far Night Watch and Day Watch, and also the Hollywood Wanted, and whatever you think of the films you have to admire the vision and the cinematography throughout.

Apart from finishing the Watch series with Twilight Watch, he looks set to be involved in another Russian superhero film, and although details are sketchy he might be co-director or he might be producing.

Black Lightning is the story of a Russian college student who buys a second hand car which turns out to have magical powers, yes it can fly, and it turns him into the superhero who has to protect the city.

That's about all we know apart from the teaser which delivers a little of the Timur Bekmambetov that we've seen before, the style is most definitely there.

Quiet Earth has the story and the trailer and one of their readers tells everyone that there are two directors to the project, does that mean Bekmambetov is one of them? So far we know that Alexander Voytinskiy is one of them.

Have a look at the teaser, short but sweet.

Second director is Dmitrij Kiselev, so Bekmambetov isn't one of them.

Cheers Highlander, I wasn't sure about that at all, so Bekmambetov is just producing?

Yes, Bekmambetov is just producing.
Also DP of this movie is Sergey Trofimov, who worked with Bekmambetov ("Night Watch", "Day Watch").

Cheers Highlander. This is sounding more and more exciting. If you have any more information then do send it on.
