The actress Natasha Richardson has died in hospital in New York, following a skiing accident in Canada. The accident originally happened on Monday, with a lot of specualtion about it since. But it has now been confirmed by various news outlets, that she has passed away.
An accomplished stage and screen actress, she will be sorely missed.
Natasha Richardson came from a family of actors, her mother was Vanessa Redgrave and her father Tony Richardson. Natasha Richardson's first feature film role was in Ken Russell's Gothic in 1986. She starred in many films after, including The Comfort of Strangers and Widows' Peak. She also starred with her husband Liam Neeson, alongside Jodie Foster in Nell.
She was also an award winning stage actor, starring in plays such as A Midsummer Night's Dream and Hamlet. And she won a Tony award for her role in Sam Mendes' Cabaret in 1998.
Natasha Richardson was an extremely talented actress, and our sympathies are with her family and friends.
