Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs trailer online

CloudywithaChanceofMeatballs.jpgNow while I hate the idea that this is in 3D and things falling from the sky give the animators the perfect excuse to make things fly towards the camera, the idea of the film sounds rather interesting, and when you see the trailer you can't help but have a little laugh.

Mind you, I still don't get the story behind it, instead we're treated to a number of scenes of foodstuffs falling from the sky.

Actually come to think of it now it isn't much of a story trailer, just something to setup the mood of it all. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a film about food falling from the sky.

Oh we do learn that a crazy inventor has created the ability to turn water into food and that he may well have a device to seed clouds with his invention so that the food falls from the sky, but other than that who knows.

Have a look at the crazy trailer yourself.

3D aside it looks like a lot of fun, but I just can't help but think that the 3D will ruin the experience for me once again.

Firstly the film looks rather funny, made me chuckle a few times. Secondly, regarding the 3D aspect, it ruins the experience for me as well Richard, and I'm not really sure why the studios are pushing for the big crowd pulling movies to in 3D. Just call me old fashion.

I'm not sure either Billy, well I am, they've seen a better return on the 3D versions of films released over their 2D versions, but then is that a real surprise?

If you create a film for 3D all the way through scripting, filming and editing, won't it be designed specifically for 3D and therefore be inferior in 2D?

However that does not mean that the 3D is the way of the future. They've said that before. A few times.

Does no one remember this book?! This is a classic LOL!!! One of my favorite.

I've never read the book, I guess that'll be true for a lot of people as they go and see the film version.
