Adrienne Shelly was the director and writer of Waitress, I say was because tragically she died shortly after completing the film. However behind her she left a number of scripts, and c, described by The Hollywood Reporter as...

"...a multigenerational family drama that revolves around three sisters and follows them over the course of several decades."

The film is being developed by the production company set up by her widow in order to continue her completed scripts, one of which is Serious Moonlight and will be filmed Cheryl Hines and tells the story of a woman who ties up her husband in the bathroom just as burglars arrive in their home. Ooer, it's a comedy.

Rick Otto, previously seen on The Wire, has joined Point Break Indo, the sequel to the cracking film Point Break. Directed by Jan de Bont, he will play a black ops Navy Seal. The story from The Hollywood Reporter.

Mark Bomback, director of the remake of Race to Witch Mountain, is set to direct the adaptation of Ben Macintyre's book (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) Agent Zigzag about a criminal who is trained by the Nazi's to be a spy during World War II. The story from Variety.

Catherine Hardwicke may be off the sequels to Twilight, but she's certainly on the directing wagon as news comes from Variety that she's set to direct If I Stay and The Hollywood Reporter that she'll be directing Maximum Ride.

If I Stay is adapted from Gayle Forman's novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) about a classical musician who is forced to chose between life and death when she is involved in a car accident with her family.

James Patterson wrote Maximum Ride (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com

Joel Silver's production company Dark Castle is set to develop Unknown White Male which is the story of a doctor who is in a coma and awakes to find that someone else has taken over his life. Jaume Collet-Serra is set to direct according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rites of Men from writer Jonathan Herman that is being compared to Taken (Filmstalker review) by The Hollywood Reporter. The story sees a single father whose only son is murdered and he drops everything to hunt down who killed them and why.

Peter Horton, Gary from Thirtysomething which I loved and also directed some episodes of The Shield, is signed up to write and direct Coal River according to Variety, the story is adapted from the Michael Shnayerson novel (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com) which tells the story of the legal battle between the coal industry and environmentalists in the Appalachian communities in West Virginia.
