The opening credit sequence for Watchmen (Filmstalker review) is damned impressive, and along with awards for trailers, I think there should be awards for opening credits, and this one should definitely win the award for the best credit sequence.

It's been on and off for a while now, but this is the first time I've managed to grab it before it's disappeared, so be quick if you want to watch it.

What's so great about this sequence is what it tells in terms of back story, and if you've not read the comic book and only seen the film once, watch this again and you should see a lot of clever references to the characters in the film that you didn't catch first time around.

If you have read the book then just marvel in what this credit sequence actually accomplishes in such a short time. In fact it's amazing that this sequence tells so much story and also manages to look so good at the same time.

Even if you didn't like the Watchmen (Filmstalker review), you have to be appreciative of what this sequence does for the story, the film, and on its own.
