Stalked: Elba joins The Losers, Spacey is Father of Invention, Eve serial killer killer, Hafstrom on Last Rite exorcism

Idris Elba is joining The Losers, an excellent comic series...

No, it's not a typing mistake, Eve is the story of a serial killer killer...

Mikael Hafstrom is to direct a film called Last Rite...

Idris Elba is joining The Losers, according to Entertainment Weekly through Digital Spy (who as usual do not link to their source) which an excellent comic series. If you haven't read the comics I'd recommend them, in very basic terms it's a realistic and very dark A-Team. The story sees a team of private operatives working for the CIA abroad set up to be killed by the very people who hired them. Thinking they are dead the CIA mop up the operation, however the team have survived and they head back to the US to find who set them up and kill them, in fact take down the entire CIA.

Already Jeffrey Dean Morgan is signed up for The Losers (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com), and while the level of directors behind the project has been going down and down, I still have some hope for the film, especially as we see the talent boarding the film and the fact that James Vanderbilt, the writer for Zodiac, has given us the script.

Kevin Spacey is to lead the Father of Invention directed by Trent Cooper, the man who was behind Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, oh yes. The story from Variety through Coming Soon tells us the story is about an inventor who has become an egomaniac billionaire, invents something that goes terribly wrong and results in him losing his fortune and in prison.

He comes out of prison with nothing, not even a home, and decides to rebuild his reputation and his fortune. What is Spacey thinking?

Eve is a film about a woman who tracks down serial killers and kills them, a female Dexter on film. The story comes from The Hollywood Reporter.

Mikael Håfström, who last delivered 1408, is to direct a film called Last Rite. The story, according to Variety through Coming Soon, is based on a non-fiction book by Matt Baglio called The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist (Amazon.com
) which tells the story of a young man who joins a seminary and is recruited into the Vatican's newly formed Exorcism School where he finds his faith as he confronts demons galore.
