Stalked: New projects: Forgotten, Payback, Mona Lisa theft

Forgotten is an interesting comic coming up for adaptation which has a uniquely interesting storyline...

Payback: Debt and the Shadow Side of Wealth is a documentary looking at debt as a fundamental requirement within today's societies...

The Day They Stole the Mona Lisa is the story of the theft of the Mona Lisa in 1911 when it was missing for more than two years...

Forgotten is a comic created by Evan Young and Jareth Grealish is to be produced by John Wells and Don Murphy as a feature film. The story, according to The Hollywood Reporter, follows a man who is forgotten by everyone who sees or meets him some five minutes after their meeting.

You can just see the potential for abusing this power, by doing anything you wanted and then just walking away, however the downside is that no one remembers him and his life becomes a very lonely one.

The plot will see this man, whoever he is because I've forgotten all about him again, investigating the murder of the son of an old friend who has been wrongly charged with murder and appears to be in the middle of a big conspiracy.

Payback is a documentary from Jennifer Baichwal which will adapt the nonfiction book Payback: Debt and the Shadow Side of Wealth (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com), which looks into the history of debt and how it has become a central part of society, religion and literature. The story, according to The Hollywood Reporter, sounds rather interesting, although I suspect pretty hard going.

Roger Donaldson is set to direct an adaptation of the Seymour Reit book The Day They Stole the Mona Lisa (Amazon.co.uk / Amazon.com), which tells the story of the 1911 theft of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre. It went missing for more than two years before a carpenter returned the painting. According to Variety the film is going to focus on the main character of the conman who stole the painting. Considering some of Donaldson's other films, expect this to have tension, good characters, and some fun at the same time, think No Way Out, Cocktail, White Sands, The Getaway, Thirteen Days, The Recruit, The World's Fastest Indian and The Bank Job.
