The trailer for The Girlfriend Experience has arrived online and I'm not sure what I'm really expected to gain from it apart from the lead is lovely, she's a porn star making her mainstream début, the film's about an adult escort who gets very personal with her customers, and it looks a rather sad film. Oh, and it looks to be filmed in an interesting style, as you would expect from Steven Soderbergh.

Actually, now that I've watched that a second time and thought about it, I'm coming round to think the film is more interesting than the trailer would suggest.

The official blurb tells us that the film is just five days in the life of a high-end Manhattan call girl who seems to have her life under total control. She has a boyfriend who accepts her lifestyle, she runs her own business making two thousand dollars an hour, and she's content with her life. However when your business is meeting people it's always a surprise who you finally do meet.

The film stars Sasha Grey, a famous adult industry star who has a mainstream film role, something that is happening with a few other adult stars of late both in front of and behind the camera. However this appears to be the first real leading role for one in a major Hollywood film, and from the trailer I would think she's done really well from it.
