There's a casting rumour for A-Team going around, and although it would normally sound rather interesting, I think there's a great sigh of indifference for this project that no one seems to believe can work, apart from the latest director, Joe Carnahan.

The A-Team was the first story I wrote about on the Internet, and that was years and years ago. I'm really struggling to believe it's going to make it to the big screen, but the latest rumour says that it's still on.

In fact more than that they have someone cast in the role of B.A. Baracus, and that's none other than rapper turned actor, Common.

It's a rumour of course, but one that Common himself seems to be happy to capitulate. Speaking to IESB he responded to the comment that some insiders had told them that they would love Common to take a certain role in the A-Team, to which he said:

"Yeah that would be something cool, but, I mean, let's see, I can't speak on it yet until we know what's going on but that would be an incredible character to play...

...I would love to, just to work with Joe is so exciting for me I just had such a great experience. I feel that he is one of the freshest directors and innovative guys and fun, he is a quality guy, quality director and man, I just want to work with him...

...I can't do the Mohawk but we got to do something, we got to find something to make it work."

So he's really suggesting that there is a role for him in The A-Team and that the project is moving forward rather well. The question is how quickly, we've been waiting for years for this film.

I've said this time and time again though, the idea of A-Team just doesn't work on film, so you have to modernise it and make it real, and then what have you got? The Losers, a comic book in development as a film right now, a great comic book in fact, which has slid through directors hands down and down until it landed with Sylvian White.

I wonder if the much more promising Losers is going to lose out to a stronger A-Team at the hands of someone like Joe Carnahan?
