Fox says no way to Wonder Woman

MeganFox.jpgMegan Fox has been upsetting Wonder Woman fans, but you have to admit, she's spot on the money.

In an interview she was asked about the rumours associating her with the role of Wonder Woman, and let me say the phantom role since the film doesn't even have a script yet, she was very vocal about why she wouldn't even want to play the part.

“Wonder Woman is a lame superhero...She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.”

You know what? Her words through Times Online and The Playlist are spot on if you ask me, unless they totally overhaul Wonder Woman and make her into something way more than the character she is and has been, I can't see it working.

Fair play to her to stand up and say that, and in the rest of the interview she's pretty honest and full on about how she feels about her career and Hollywood.

“Hollywood is the most superficial thing you could possibly be a part of...And if I weren’t attractive I wouldn’t be working at all.”

Okay, if you can put to the side how arrogant that sounds – but let's face it, she is gorgeous – she's a damn gutsy woman to be saying that out in public. The arrogant twinge continues with these comments though.

“Getting typecast as what? Attractive? How bad is that?...That’s not really a bad thing. If people want to look at me like that I find it flattering. And it gives me an advantage because people don’t expect anything from me. If I show up and give any sort of performance at all, even a mediocre one, everyone will walk away going, ‘Holy shit! Megan did a great job in that movie!’ So I’m an overachiever just by default because of the category I’ve been put in.”

Yeah, it does grate a little and you can feel your hackles rising a little, however get through that part of it and you can see she's actually talking some sense.

I kinda like what she has to say, an d it does go against the idea that you might have of Megan Fox.

However her words about Wonder Woman are probably going to upset fans, despite them being pretty spot on.

Look, Wonder Woman doesn't even have a new script yet, we've no idea what's happening with the story yet, who's directing, or anything, I doubt we're going to get an actress to play the role before any of those things come along, the studio won't take the risk.

you know, it didnt' strike me so much arrogant as confident. she obviously knows what world she's living in and has not one illusion to her importance in it. And she's right on all accounts. People would just assume she's a bimbo and from these comments she's obviously much more level headed than some of the "most influential" actors in the biz.

she just moved up a notch on the mogulometer. I should check out something she's been in other than transformers since i haven't yet.

Though I didn't much like the movie "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People" might be interesting to watch in the context of this story.

I'd be with you, definitely thinking of finding out more about the career films of Megan Fox. There might be something there, and I'd definitely be looking at her in a different light, and perhaps looking elsewhere! ;)

She can't act, that's the real reason she doesn't want the part. She'll probably never have a leading role in any film (unless a straight to DVD film).

i like megan fox. i hope she'll show a lot of improvement in her next films, especially in jennifer's body AND FATHOM if that ever pushes through.
