McG on alternate Terminator Salvation ending
The marketing machine for Terminator Salvation is revving up as the release approaches. Sometimes it means some gems come out though, and this is one of those instances.
McG has been talking about the alternate endings that never made it, one of which is fairly drastic. Head inside to find out what he originally had in mind.
The original ending to Terminator Salvation was leaked online some time ago. Only to be changed later on, either because of the leak or because it didn't work. McG and Michael Ferris have been talking about two endings which they decided not to go with. One of which we haven't heard before. Warning, some non used endings are ahead.
The first ending we heard about had John Connor dying and being replaced by Marcus. With only a select few people, knowing that the leader of the human resistance was now a robot. Apparently that was the somewhat dark ending. But the other ending sounds even crazier. Here is McG, through AICN.
We had a jet-black ending. Connor dies, we're in a room with all the people we care about. You take Connor's likeness, you put it on the living machine of Marcus. He sits up, now looking like Christian Bale, takes a gun, kills Kate, kills Kyle, kills Star, kills everybody, eyes flare red, [snaps] the end.
Jeez, sounds like the end of a Quentin Tarantino film, everybody dies. I'm glad they didn't use that one. I think I'd prefer they keep that kind of thing until the end of the next film. Can't wait to see what the actual ending is. What do you think of the discarded one, too much?
